With more people using Wireless Tiny PCMCIA and Cardbus adapters for networking at home and at work, we are seeing a lot of laptops with damaged PCMCIA ports. The problem seems to occur when the laptop is carried in a case without unplugging the Ealing wireless card. This causes the card to push into the port and break it or dislodge it from the socket on the motherboard. Make sure that the diskette does not have more than one label attached to it. Multiple labels can cause damage to the drive or cause the drive to fail. If an error occurs with the internal diskette drive, reconnect the diskette connector on the system board.If the error still remains reconnect the external diskette drive/DVD-ROM module and replace the external diskette drive/CD-ROM module.
